Samed Ngang Shee Scenic Point

A brand new sightseeing opened in Phang-nga that tourists are able to appreciate the attractive Phang-nga bay from dawn to dusk. The word "Samed" is come from "Med" in Thailand's South dialect which means rolling sarong up or raising sarong. There was a story about this word that the water tide in a canal located in the area often rode up and down, so when monks and female ascetics (Shee) needed to pass the canal, the monks directed the female ascetics to roll sarong up a bit so they can across to the other side. It became the name "Med Ngang Shee" and then the sound was distorted to "Samed Ngang Shee" which is used till today.

Address: Ta Yuu, Ta Kua Tung, Phang-nga province
