Starbucks celebrates 200th store opening in Thailand

Bangkok, 10 July 2014 --- Starbucks Coffee (Thailand) Ltd., today celebrated the opening of its 200th store at FastFac Mini Factory, Wang Noi, Ayutthaya Province, one of the fastest growing industrial cities in Thailand. This latest opening reaffirms the company’s commitment to extending the ‘Starbucks Experience’in Thailand through store innovation and expansion. With 16 years in the Thai market, and a pioneer of the coffeehouse culture,Starbucks is today synonymous with great coffeeand a place wherecustomers can enjoy the unique ‘Starbucks Experience’.

In a country acknowledged for its ever increasing generation of coffee consumers,Starbucks brews more than1.8 millioncups of coffee monthly through its iconic Starbucksstores that today reflect the diverse lifestyles of its customers. Retail department stores, office buildings, hospitals, university, condominiums, 24 hour locationsand those based on the drive-thru concept, all serve as Starbucks venues.

In 2013,Howard Schultz, chairman, president, and CEO of Starbucks Coffee Company announced the company’s commitment and long-term investment in Thailandwith a target to double thestore numbers by 2018 and in the past year, Starbucks has opened 32 stores in Thailand. Currently, there are 141 stores in Bangkok and 59 upcountry.

We are proud also to record many ‘Thailand’ milestones that include ‘green store’ initiatives and a pioneering LEED® gold certified store, the launch of the first Community Store in Asia and outside of the U.S., and the launch of a special loyalty program – My Starbucks Rewards,” Murray continued.

The 200th and thirddrive-thru store at FastFac Mini Factory, Ayutthaya Province after Porto Chino store in Samutsakorn and Victoria Gardens store in Bangkok, The FastFac Mini Factory store features two levels with a variety of seating. The interior photographically reflects the coffee journey from bean to cup while the “Coffee Spectrum” mural conveys the Arabica coffee sourcingstory. The community zone allows customers to enjoy the world+$$$$$!s finest coffee in a relaxing setting that also reflects the store’s imminent LEED® certification for environmental stewardship that includes using reclaimed wood and locally sourced materials. The exterior material used red bricks to reflect Ayutthaya’s unique and historic architecture.
